Johnnie Mae Greenwood

Who We Are

At the heart of our incredible story is the remarkable Johnnie Mae Greenwood, our beloved matriarch. Now 98 years young, she continues to inspire us with her unwavering dedication to the community she has called home her entire life. Born on George Ranch right here in Fort Bend, her deep roots in this land have shaped not only her own passion for service but also the values she has passed down through generations.

With her selfless spirit and boundless compassion, Johnnie Mae has taught us the importance of giving, staying connected and honoring where we come from. Her vibrant heritage and steadfast commitment to preserving our cultural history live on in her children and grandchildren. We are immensely grateful for her enduring legacy, which continues to guide and shine through each of us.

We’re thrilled to share that we have the endorsement of Precinct 4 Commissioner Dexter L. McCoy for the Annual Black Heritage Rodeo of Fort County! Join us as we celebrate our rich history, vibrant culture and strong community at this remarkable event. Find out more about him here!

Dear Vendor,

Emerald City Enterprises is thrilled to host the Black Heritage Rodeo of Fort Bend on February 21, 2026 at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds.

The Rodeo’s mission is to highlight and celebrate the rich Black cowboy legacy of Fort Bend County and introduce it to a new generation of cowboys and cowgirls.
